The Hope Valley lies in the heart of Derbyshire’s Peak District .
Our association was set up in 2003 to support and co-ordinate Christian work with local children and young people.
A group of trustees sets policies and raises money to employ a children’s worker (Hazel) and two youth workers  ( Sundar and Sally).
Hazel  works in 3 of the villages helping to lead after-school clubs for primary age children.
Sundar and Sally run a teenage DropIn centre in Hathersage.
We are just about to start the Big Bus Project which is ti run a mobile youth centre using a converted double decker bus.  This will cater for teenagers and will move up and down the valley visiting different villages on different days when the project is fully operational

The clubs and DropIn are run by  local management committees who operate within the trustees’ guidelines, plan programmes and supply volunteer helpers.  All staff workers and volunteers are CRB checked for working with young people
How can I help?

The work is largely financed by individuals who donate money regularly, although other organisations including charities and churches have made donations too.  Funds are  used mainly to employ our workers, buy equipment and ensure that essential insurance requirements are met.  At the local clubs a small sum is paid weekly by each child to cover refreshments.
